Internship Description:
The Astra School, located in Cape Town, South Africa, is a school for physically disabled children. As an occupational therapy intern, you will work with the staff's occupational therapists and assist with child rehabilitation. This internship requires that you have an educational background in occupational therapy in addition to an interest in paediatrics. This is a very challenging internship that will appeal specifically to graduate-level students. The Astra School is the primary site where we place students from Pacific University School of Occupational Therapy, one of our academic partners. Please contact us to request a detailed description of this occupational therapy internship opportunity.

-Kajsa Snyderman, a graduate student from Pacific University School of Occupational Therapy.
If you have no background in occupational therapy but have a passion for working with disadvantaged children, you may still apply for this internship and work as a classroom volunteer. The focus of this internship is learning rather than rehabilitation, as you assist Astra School Teachers in the classroom. This internship is ideal for someone studying or considering a career in special education.
