The VACorps Internship Program in Cape Town, South Africa
La Couronne Wine EstateLa Couronne Wine Estate Internships in Cape Town and surrounds don’t come any better than this. Imagine spending the South African summer surrounded by the lush vineyards and exquisite ambience that defines the village of Franschhoek while you immerse yourself in the intricacies of the age-old craft of winemaking. Winery internships are a great option if you are interested in winemaking, viticulture or cellar management.
About La Couronne Wine Estate: The term ‘La Couronne’ translates to ‘the crown’ and thus provides the perfect moniker for the farm’s premier range. The range consists of six varietals, including a few feisty reds, as well as some elegant whites. (Interesting side note: La Couronne was also the name of the ship that brought the French Huguenots to the Cape of Storms. The largest French warship of its time, it was 25 feet longer and seven feet broader than any other ship in the King’s army and will forever be remembered as playing a vital part in the history of South African winemaking.) A boutique label that only consists of three varietals, 277 is La Couronne's second range that strives to honour those few French artisans who fled France due to religious persecution and settled under the harsh African sun to make a new life, bringing with them a wealth of viticultural knowledge. These brave individuals numbers 277 in total. The La Couronne wine style follows the Bordeaux winemaking tradition, the very same tradition that was brought to the Cape by the Huguenots.
