Lion’s Head Hike
The rocky pinnacle located off the shoulder of Table Mountain is known as Lion’s Head. The stunning panoramic views from atop this stunning geological feature are arguably better than the views from atop Table Mountain. During your stay you will undoubtedly climb both peaks, so you will ultimately decide which peak is more photogenic! No previous mountaineering skills are required to make this hike, although you should wear a pair of athletic shoes because there are a few sections near the summit where you will need to climb ladders. Since it only takes about 45 minutes to climb from parking lot to summit, Lion’s Head is a great hike to make during sunset because you can take some amazing photos and be off the mountain before it gets too dark. Locals also like to hike Lion’s Head when there is a full moon, which is something you may consider doing during your leisure time if you’re enrolled in one of our longer programs.
