Historically, the path to notoriety on the South African music scene inevitably led through the Armchair Theatre. Famous South African acts such as Seether, Freshly Ground and Lark all once had to prove themselves to the Armchair crowd. Now, the Armchair Theatre has transformed into Obviouzly Armchair, a fun, vibrant, funky backpackers. Located directly in the heart of Observatory, Obviouzly Armchair is a great place for foreigners and locals to meet, either at the pub or cafe, in the courtyard, or at the weekly "bring 'n' braai" which is open to the community. We recommend that you frequent Obviouzly Armchair for a new facet of what Observatory has to offer, and to get a true feel for the "Obs" vibe!
