An internship with Shake Interactive will offer you the opportunity to do hands-on work with campaigns designed for international companies.  The benefit of this is being able to liaise with colleagues and clients on campaigns being rolled out in cities across the world!  By doing this, you will be exposed to the South African market as well as the UK, Australian, and U.S. markets. 

Some examples of skills you will develop, and projects you will participate in are below:

1.       Unique campaign idea generation:  Learning not just the basic tasks that need to be

      completed in order to bill a client, but also strategies to add value to campaigns.

2.       Problem solving and problem identification:  This skill lies at the heart of Shake’s day-to-day work, and the advertising industry as a whole.  For example, say a decision made by a client has a negative effect on its campaign for some reason.  Shake’s responsibility is to figure out why this decision has had a negative impact, and how to correct the problem! 

3.       Campaign strategizing:  Each time Shake gets a new client, the team at Shake analyzes the client’s current marketing strategy, and designs a new strategy which reflects the client’s goals as well as good business practice.  This work often necessitates dealing with in-house development teams, and the politics within that team.
