Sticky Fingers

Those who have lived in Observatory for the past five years and have seen many restaurants come and go. Sticky Fingers is one of the "newest kids" in the Observatory restaurant scene but it is unquestionably one of the more wonderful additions to the neighborhood in recent memory. Why? Quite simply, they make the best damn ribs in South Africa that are complimented by one of my all-time favorite American culinary creations: cheesy bacon fries.

Because there is very little seating in the restaurant, Sticky Fingers features a very intimate, yet casual, atmosphere. The staff are absolutely lovely (combination of Zimbabweans, Mozambicans and South Africans) and provide excellent service. Aside from enjoying the fall-off-the-bone tenderness of their ribs, why should you check out Stick Fingers? This leads me to my final observation about the restaurant menu- its amazing value. For a mere R65, you can get a half-rack of ribs, 6 buffalo wings and a side of fries (add R8 for cheesy bacon option). Wash it down with a pint of locally brewed weiss beer and you'll understand the true meaning of postprandial bliss!
