We are the Volunteer Adventure Corps, a professional internship program located in Cape Town, South Africa that specializes in the creation of customized internship experiences for our participants.  Cape Town, a city situated at the southern tip of the African continent represents an emerging destination for international business and tourism in Africa. Over fifteen years after the abolishment of the Apartheid regime, the city is a frontier for business and humanitarian innovation. Countless organizations, businesses and institutions have emerged in Cape Town to meet the demands of a budding economy and nation. Our Cape Town internship program will help you achieve a balance between experiential learning and exploration. You will attend your internship during the day and have the option of attending Xhosa language classes and other cultural events during weekday evenings. Ultimately, we want you to have an incredible travel experience in Africa, all the while gaining internship exposure that will be a talking point in any future job interview. What further qualifies Cape Town as a premier destination for international internships is its magnificent location. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, surrounded by oceans and shadowed by a 3,000-foot mountain. The vista is dynamic, breathtaking and sometimes as beautiful as to be surreal. When you are not working at your internship in Cape Town, you will have time to enjoy a variety of weekend adventure opportunities. During an excursion to the Western Cape Winelands, you can sample some of South Africa's famous wines. Having lunch at the summit of Table Mountain and hiking the Twelve Apostles only requires a good pair of shoes and a hiking buddy. Visiting the District Six Museum and Parliament are great activities for politically-minded participants. A perusal of one of Cape Town's African craft markets gives you the chance to barter with artists from across Africa. Scuba diving and surfing is also another fantastic highlight of Cape Town, due in no small part to our warm weather and  numeroubeaches. For the mall-junkie there is a small island’s worth of shopping at the V&A waterfront, which boasts over 400 retail outlets. Cape Town is indeed a playground for the rich, the less affluent and everyone in-between.
