The foundation of your experience in our program starts with the careful selection of your internship in Cape Town. Prior to your arrival in Cape Town, you will be in regular communication with a member of our staff as we design the specific details of your internship placement based around your academic, intellectual and professional objectives. Central to our internship placement philosophy is the concept of mutually beneficial experiential learning, through which you, your host organization, and the communities they serve, have the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop in dynamic and positive ways.

As a participant of our program, you will join a community that feels like a family. When you arrive in South Africa, we make it incredibly easy for you to adjust to life in Cape Town and call this city your home. From your very first day in the country, we will guide you through a comprehensive orientation that ensures you will take full advantage of every moment in South Africa. You will immediately be networked with other participants so that you have a peer group to relate with as you adapt to a new culture. Once you have settled into your internship, you will have the opportunity to get involved with our regular weekly program activities, which range from Xhosa language classes to hikes in Table Mountain National Park. Our weekly activities, which are included in the cost of your program fee, will help you learn more about the city and its culture. At the conclusion of your internship experience in Cape Town, you will learn to navigate the city and apprecaite the local culture through the perspective of a local Capetonian.
