"VAC's passion for Cape Town and South Africa is contagious. I am leaving Observatory very sad and nostalgic because thanks to VAC I have had an amazing experience and made spectacular new friends whom I am sure to remain in touch with long after I leave. The Friday activities -- or VACtivities as I think they should be called-- were something I looked forward to at every weeks end. Whether it was ...a chill wine tasting or a hectic hike I knew I would have great fun and kick off the weekend right.
What I value and appreciate most about VAC is that I can trust them-- through interaction I have learned that these wonderful people really do have my back. When you're traveling abroad its important to be able to depend on and be wary of your safety net-- so a big thank you to VAC.
I've had an incredible summer, or winter here in south africa, I've grown as a person and as a future employee. My internship at the Southern African Media and Gender Institutute introduced me to new and loveable people who taught me invaluable lessons about how an NGO works. I am so grateful for this experience! And I implore anyone to go through VAC as well so that they can share the sentiment. I am so lucky to have been with VAC."
