"Spending four months of my life in South Africa has been a life-changing experience that has transformed and enriched me as a person. Working at Heideveld Day Clinic offered me amazing opportunities to not only learn and carry out unique procedures, but to communicate and immerse myself within the culture of South Africa through our patients. If any lesson has been learned, the communities of Heideveld and Cape Town have taught me to cherish every moment of life, to take up the challenge, and thrive in new elements.
Thank you to Sean, Ollie, Vanessa, Andrew, Sly, Lindi, and the rest of the VAC staff for making my time in Cape Town brim with unforgettable memories. VACtivities, Trenchtown, weekend trips, and the Garden Route barely skim the surface of the amazing places where the VAC staff accompanied us and offered new opportunities. Cape Town is an absolutely stunning location, and I hope to return very soon. With the mountains, the city, and ocean, boundaries are limitless! Experiences in the infamous minibuses, on top of Table Mountain, Devil's Peak, and Lion's Head, in the midst of Long Street, at the beach, in the townships, and within the realms of home sweet home (Obz) will forever be engraved in my memory as the best times of my life. I acquired lifelong friends from across the globe who have shown me how to live life with no regrets. Thank you to everyone here in South Africa! I feel so blessed to have had this wonderful opportunity in my life."
