"After six months of living here Cape Town feels like home, something I never thought I would say of an African city. I know the streets of town as well as a local and better than most of the taxi drivers. While I regret not taking more time to explore the rest of southern Africa I do have a strong sense of accomplishment from getting to know one foreign city so intimately. Cape Town seems perfectly catered to post graduate 20 somethings trying to kill some time before returning to school or entering the workforce. There is always a new bar, a new beach, or a new hike to keep us entertained (not I've done many of the hikes). Despite all these things that Cape Town has to offer I know I will miss the people more than the place. The VAC staff has been amazing and all seem more like good friends introducing me to South Africa than a placement team whose job is to do that. Adjusting back to life where I am not constantly being introduced to new people from all around the world seems like it will be very boring, hopefully many of us will keep in touch."
