Francesca joined the VACorps program in June 2022 and participated in a human rights internship. She is studying at UCLA, majoring in pre-international development studies and English.
“I am so grateful for my experience here in Cape Town and for the staff that facilitated my experience (special shout-out to Kholi and Kus for helping Cape Town feel like a home away from home!) I gained an enormous amount of experience in policy research that I believe will be invaluable and gave me insight into my future career path. I learned a lot from my supervisor as a person and as a mentor. This has been an absolutely transformative experience, from exploring the city to my internship. I would advise newcomers to take full advantage of the city through VACorps activities but also through independent initiatives.”
