VAC Weekend Trip to Waterval/Langebaan

Such a fun trip this past weekend with VAC interns and friends! 

We packed up Saturday morning and headed to a place called Waterval, which is about 90 minutes from Cape Town. The weather was absolutely perfect for us….warm but not too hot; perfect for swimming in the multiple waterfalls on the hike but not too oppressive. 

The hike was not for the wimpy: Not only did we have to navigate steep ladders, slippery rocks, and loose trails, we managed to just about all make the 250 club as well as getting in some epic swims along the way! Nice job everyone!

Back at the campsite the sunset was gorgeous…we then had a great braai and a night spent under the stars. 

Sunday we traveled to Langebaan on the West Coast of South Africa to visit Die Strandloper, a 10-course buffet that lasts all afternoon. Literally, all we did was eat and sleep. It was glorious (I took a nap halfway between courses 6 and 8, full disclosure).
