This Friday we’ll be heading to Marianne Wine Estate, located just outside Stellenbosch, for a unique biltong and wine pairing experience. The tasting showcases five carefully selected wines, each paired with premium cuts of South African biltong,  a perfect way to enjoy two local favorites together.

Alongside the pairing, you’ll learn about the estate’s boutique wines, the winemaking process, and the rich history behind their label. It’s a relaxed afternoon of good company, great wine, and authentic South African flavors.

Through this session, we’ll explore Cape Malay culture and its significance in South Africa, with a food tasting offering a sensory way to connect with these traditions and stories.

Event Details

For this Friday’s weekly meetup, we’ll be heading out for the Noordhoek Beach Shipwreck Walk—a scenic coastal walk with a touch of history.

We’ll take a relaxed 2.5 to 3 km walk along the beach to visit the remains of the Kakapo, a steamship that ran aground in 1900. The rusted wreck is still visible in the sand and makes for a unique and memorable stop. After the walk, we’ll head to Aegir Project Brewery for a relaxed beer tasting and a chance to unwind together.

This week’s Culture Series will get us moving with an introduction to Amapiano dance moves — the energetic and expressive style that has grown alongside South Africa’s globally popular Amapiano music genre.

The session will explore the origins of Amapiano, its cultural significance, and the way dance has become a central part of the movement. Participants will be guided through some of the most recognizable steps, with plenty of time to practice, laugh, and enjoy the rhythm together. No prior dance experience is needed, just a willingness to join in and have fun.

For this week’s meetup, we’re setting sail on Tigress for a relaxed cruise across Table Bay — think sunshine, sea breeze, and time to unwind on deck. This scenic boat trip offers a chance to enjoy Cape Town from the water while taking in fresh ocean air and beautiful coastal views.

The cruise lasts about an hour and is all about relaxing and enjoying the experience together. Be sure to bring a camera — the views across Table Bay are spectacular.

This week’s Culture Series takes us to Langa Township for an interactive drumming experience led by Olwethu Thando from Jambo Drums.

Jambo Drums uses African djembe drumming to bring people together through rhythm, energy, and the principle of ubuntu. The session is highly participatory and suitable for all levels, no prior drumming experience is needed. Participants will be guided through rhythms and group drumming, creating a shared and engaging experience.

For this Friday’s weekly meetup, we’ll be heading out on a hike to Cecilia Forest, located on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. This scenic trail passes through indigenous forest and follows mountain streams, leading to a beautiful waterfall where we’ll take a break and enjoy the surroundings.

The hike is moderate and suitable for most fitness levels, with a total duration of approximately 2–3 hours.
