Finding suitable housing in vibrant Cape Town can be a challenge without local know-how. That’s why we’ve partnered with Rent-A-Room to assist you with fully-furnished accommodation options to make you feel at home.
Rent-A-Room is a luxury short-term student housing provider located in the colorful neighborhood of Observatory, close to shops, eateries, nightlife and transport.

Upon acceptance, we will connect you to Rent-a-Room to explore your housing options based on the dates you plan on coming to Cape Town
Pricing
Rates range from $21-$25 USD per day depending on room size. This extremely reasonable price is offered by our seasoned housing partners and is not included in the main program fees.
Most participants decide to live in Observatory group housing for full cultural immersion. With quick access to Central Cape Town, Observatory lets you fully experience the rhythm of local life!
A note on rent
Please note the housing fee is separate from the VACorps program fee.
While we support you and ensure your housing needs are met, rent is paid directly to the provider.

Observatory
89 Station Rd. is conveniently located in downtown Observatory by the Observatory Station. This house provides 12 rooms, with 2½ bathrooms, on the lower floor there are 2 separate individual toilets and one shower with a toilet & upstairs there are 2 separate showers both with toilets. and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. In addition, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a rooftop patio ideal for enjoying your morning coffee or studying.

Observatory
197 Lower Main Rd is a large, two-story house in the middle of Observatory. There are 17 fully furnished rooms and 4 bathrooms, making it a comfortable stay for all residents. With a spacious and fully equipped kitchen, living room and porch. There is a front braai area with a grill and outdoor picnic table perfect for socializing. There is a game room fitted with a pool table. There is also one secure parking space available behind the property fence.

Observatory
With eight thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each providing a comfortable and private retreat, residents can focus on their studies or relax in their sanctuary. The heart of this co-living space is a large, well-equipped kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen, an expansive entertainment area awaits, featuring a pool table that promises hours of friendly competition and amusement.

Loft F1
Observatory
Loft F1 is a modern apartment located just a short walk away from downtown Observatory. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious, making it perfect for a larger social event or just a simple meal with friends or family. The loft consists of 10 large-sized category A bedrooms, accompanied by 3 bathrooms. In addition to these amenities, the apartment provides comfortable, ample seating and a big screen Smart TV to ensure that your stay is a fun one!
