This week’s end-of-week activity is Volunteer Day, where we’ll be spending time with GAPA (Grandmothers Against Poverty and AIDS), an organization that plays an important role in supporting and uplifting its local community.
We’ll be travelling to Khayelitsha to learn more about GAPA’s work. The afternoon will include time spent with the children, a session with the grandmothers, and helping with their garden space.
There will also be an arts and crafts table, with handmade items created by the grandmothers. If you’d like to support them further, you’re welcome to bring some cash to purchase souvenirs.
Details:
-
Departure: 12:30 PM from the VACorps office
-
Return: Leave Khayelitsha at 4:30 PM, back in Obs by around 5:00 PM
This is a meaningful opportunity to engage with the community and support an organization making a real difference.
Please don’t forget to RSVP via the WhatsApp post on the VAC Announcements Group.
