Passport Requirements

If you do not yet have a valid passport: It’s crucial to start your passport application without delay, bearing in mind that the process can take several weeks or longer.
Passport Validity: Your U.S. passport should be valid for at least 30 days beyond your intended departure date from South Africa. It’s recommended to have at least six months of validity remaining on your passport.
Blank Visa Pages: Make sure your passport has at least two blank visa pages. South African authorities may stamp your passport upon entry.
Entry and Exit Stamps: Ensure that you receive an entry stamp upon arrival and an exit stamp upon departure from South Africa. These stamps are essential for confirming your legal entry and exit from the country.
Travelling as a minor: If you are under the age of 18, you will be required to travel with additional documentation such as a copy of your unabridged birth certificate, parental consent letters and copies of your parent’s passports. We will provide you with a host letter from VACorps and copied of the ID of a VACorps employee, as this will also be required for your journey.
