Alternative Indoor Activities

When the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move that week’s meetup to an indoor venue. The VAC staff will announce any changes via WhatsApp—please note that the rainy day activities listed are examples of the types of alternatives we may consider.

Theatre Night in Cape Town
Experience Cape Town’s vibrant performing arts scene with an evening at one of the city’s local theatres, such as the Baxter Theatre or The Fugard Studio. From thought-provoking dramas and lively musicals to South African storytelling and comedy, theatre nights offer a culturally rich and affordable way to enjoy a rainy evening indoors with fellow interns.

Nigiro Tea Tasting
Discover the art and culture of tea with a guided tasting experience at Nigiro Tea Café, one of Cape Town’s hidden gems. Museum Visit
Dive into Cape Town’s rich cultural and historical heritage with a visit to one of the city’s renowned museums. Whether exploring contemporary African art at Zeitz MOCAA or uncovering South Africa’s complex past at the District Six Museum, this outing offers meaningful reflection and inspiration when the weather keeps us indoors.

NOTE: Activities are free, but no refunds or vouchers are provided for missed events. If you work on Fridays, please get permission from your supervisor before attending. Details and RSVP instructions are shared in the announcements WhatsApp group—be sure to RSVP by the deadline and update the team if your plans change.
