What Cape Town costs, and what the same stay costs elsewhere
Choose an internship or a semester, how long you’re staying, a room and where you’re flying from. You’ll get an itemised Cape Town estimate, then the same stay priced in ten cities US students commonly choose: London, Dublin, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Florence, Tokyo and Sydney. Each one covers the program, housing, food, getting around, the flight, insurance, pocket money and ten things you’d probably want to do while you’re there. The last section sets all of it against staying home for a paid internship.
Your stay
Housing at Rent-A-Room is included in the semester price, so room grade does not change the total here.
The standard internship is ten weeks, but anything from four to twelve works. The program fee doesn’t change with length; housing and living costs do.
The other cities are priced at the same level: shared-flat basic, private room, or ensuite / studio.
Typical June–July round-trip economy fare. Deal-hunting can shave $200–400 off any of them.
