“I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.”
Excerpt from sea fever by John Masefield
“My SA experience can be described in a few key phrases. SA allowed me to live a life of freedom, independence, to simply have fun, and live in the present moment. I was lucky enough to work with children that had visual and cognitive impairments. The children taught me to be a more caring physiotherapist and better person. In my free time, I searched for empty powerful waves to throw my mind into the present moment and stay grounded in nature. In the end, friendships were formed, breaths were shortened due the raw majestic natural beauty, and I returned to the simple childlike life philosophy to just have fun!”
