“I chose Cape Town because it is a unique place and there are so many activities to take part in, from hiking to wine tasting, and I enjoyed them all. Cape Town is such a diverse place where you can always find something to enjoy, no matter your personality type. I completed a Medical Internship for 6 weeks and I loved it. Everything feels different at first and it took me some time to adjust to living and working in a culturally new situation, but the VACorps staff is very helpful. They are always available for assistance and are eager to help you! Because of that, I never felt alone or uneasy and the other interns are also helpful and friendly. I grew exponentially during my internship, both professionally and personally. I learned a lot about myself, especially my strengths and weaknesses. I think it is necessary to come to a foreign place and throw yourself into something that is out of your comfort zone. No matter what, the VACorps staff is there to help at any hour and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Cape Town is amazing and I loved that I was able to learn skills professionally while also exploring this amazing country. I highly recommend VACorps to everyone!”
