“I cannot believe that my time here is coming to an end. There are not enough words in the English language to describe how absolutely life-changing this experience has been. The people that I have met and the things that I have done have helped to create memories that will last a life time.
“The only problem with my internship at Baphumelele Educare and Grade R center is that It had to end. The teachers and children welcomed me in to their classrooms with smiles and laughter. Over the 12 weeks the children taught me more than I expected. They taught me to live my life to the fullest, never to sweat the small stuff and appreciate what you have. I will never be able to thank the people at Baphumelele enough for the experience that they gave me. It was more than just my internship site, it is my home.
“It did not take very long for the other VAC interns and my roommates to become lifelong friends. Together we adventured around Cape Town where there is truly something for everyone. We hiked table mountain to see some of the most incredible views, went wine tasting, visited Robben Island, saw the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Aguhlas, went shark cage diving and so much more.
“Cape Town will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to coming back as soon as possible.
“Thank you to VAC for making this all possible.”
