“My time here in Cape town has been nothing short of incredible. I came to South Africa to explore not only my future career as a nurse, but also to discover more about myself and another culture. With the support of the VAC team I was able to do exactly that. The VAC staff offered support and the an abundance of opportunities to be able to go out and see everything that this beautiful city has to offer.
“During my six week stay, I worked in Crossroads Community clinic and was able to experience and learn about the way in which a completely different health care system operated. Being able to work closely with the facilities doctors, nurses and pharmacists was truly rewarding.
“Aside from work, my time here was spent hiking mountains, traveling the garden route, loving the new food along with the night life and of course meeting some of the greatest people. I am so happy to have made the decision to travel to Cape Town through VAC and would recommend the program to anyone looking to experience an enriching culture and have the adventure of a lifetime.
