“It’s hard to believe that I’m leaving Cape Town in a couple of days. This has been the most random, exhilarating, eye-opening, rewarding experience I’ve ever had and I am so grateful for this opportunity. I got to go to an internship every day that further solidified my desire to be in the advertising industry, and even got to run an event and do a video shoot with local celebrity Anton Taylor. I did thesis research that allowed me to visit different agencies and have conversations with amazing men and women creatives in my field. I moved into a house with a bunch of strangers who have become my new family from all over the world. I rode an ostrich, did the world’s highest bungee jump, went shark cage diving, went paragliding, did some epic hikes, learned how to drive a stick shift bakkie in the backroads of Greyton surrounded by wild horses, caught my first fish, hung out on the beach in December, went rock climbing, and explored new places outside of Cape Town, just to name a few highlights. I’m not sure exactly how the transition to going back home will be, as I will miss this place dearly, but I know that this has been life changing. Life in Cape Town was lekker, and I will definitely be coming back.”
