Cailey is studying public health at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. She joined the VACorps program in 2019, where she participated in a medical internship in Zimbabwe.
| “This trip was really fun and different than everything I have done before. I liked all the hospitals I got to visit and also all of the touristy things I got to do throughout the time I was in Zimbabwe. Some of the highlights of my experience were the amazing staff, getting to observe c-sections and births. I got to participate in counseling sessions with patients and did community outreach at my rural placement. The experience I had was awesome. I learned a lot about the medical field and interacted with a lot of cool people.” |
