Claire graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Science, and currently works as a biochemistry analyst in Ireland. She joined the VACorps Program in January 2019 and participated in a public health internship in the clinical trials unit of an HIV/AIDS foundation. 

“I chose Cape Town because I was attracted to a city that has so much diversity and that is so close to nature with plenty to do and a lot of rich history to learn about. Also in the area of Public Health that I would like to get into further in my career, I think South Africa and Cape Town, in particular, has a lot to offer in terms of hands-on experience. The VACorps staff are very helpful (special shout out to Kholi!) I had a great time in Cape Town and learned so much in my internship, I am very thankful for this experience with VACorps!”
