“I have always been intrigued by South African culture, which is why I chose to come Cape Town for my internship. I loved learning about the country’s history and enjoyed connecting with the clients at my internship site. The people in Cape Town are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they make you feel like you are part of their family. I know, without a doubt, this experience will help propel me forward both professionally and personally. My work in Cape Town is applicable to many jobs that I will be applying for in the future, and I have grown so much as a person in the process. I came to Cape Town for 2 and a half months, and although I experienced some homesickness, a piece of my heart will always be left in the beautiful country of South Africa.

“I recommend that everyone visit South Africa at some point in their lives – you will NOT regret it! I was nervous and scared to come here, but I am so glad I did. I wouldn’t change the experience I had for the world! And, special thanks to the VACorps staff who helped me through everything. They are some of the most kind and generous people you will ever meet.”
